D-Marin Portonovi marina began the year 2020 with numerous activities. Interest expressed in berths during the winter months is high, and the capacity of the marina is rapidly filling up.
This rising interest in berths that belong to one of the most beautiful marinas in the Adriatic was confirmed by the largest indoor nautical fair in the German city of Dusseldorf (held January 18-26, 2020). At the promotional stand of D-Marin Group where 10 other marinas in the Mediterranean and several of them from the Middle East (Dubai) were represented, however, the greatest interest was expressed precisely in Portonovi marina, as well as Montenegrin nautical life in general.
“Recently, D-Marin Portonovi marina became part of the prestigious British Marina Association - TYHA, and the process of accreditation of marinas within the Gold Anchors Scheme has been launched, '' said Nikola Banovic, manager of D-Marin Portonovi marina.
“At the marina, which is an integral part of the prestigious Portonovi Resort, we are planning a series of activities in 2020 that will be organized for marina members and visitors. We would like to specially highlight the sports, cultural and entertaining activities which will be organized throughout the year. Regatta that will be organized with local sailing clubs and renowned sailors, together with performances of local musicians from Đenovići who will play famous world music during summer season in the marina, '' adds Banović.
Employees at D-Marin Portonovi marina are continuously working to improve their skills in line with industry development, through various training and capacity-building sessions. An example of this is the certification of Marina Manager, Mr. Nikola Banović, who received the prestigious British Accreditation - Certified Marina Manager, the first of its kind awarded to someone from Montenegro and the region.
Since continuous professional self-improvement is of great importance for the development of the whole industry, cooperation with the Faculty of Maritime Studies in Kotor has also been established. Namely, students will have the opportunity to volunteer, apply their acquired knowledge and develop new skills while gaining experience in the field of maritime knowledge during the summer tourist season in the marina.
''For clients and berth users, D-Marin Portonovi marina has prepared a number of benefits. One of them is the "Bring your friend" campaign, which will give significant benefits to the owners of boats that are 12 meters and larger if they choose our port as their home port. Each berth has parking in the marina, and for those who sign a long-term contract, a garage space is provided within the berth price. They will also have a wide range of Portonovi resort services at their disposal where marina users have special benefits, '' concluded Banovic.
D-Marin Portonovi marina has 238 berths and serves as a border crossing point to Montenegro. From 2020, it will also include a fuel station under tax-free conditions, the so-called “duty-free fuel”. The next international launch of D-Marin Portonovi marina is planned for the Istanbul Boat Show from February 22 to March 1, 2020.
